The Institute of Humanities & Creative Arts has a strong mix of academics with a high degree of professional and personal experience, enabling you to get the most out of your programme. Our staff have expertise in British cinema, film theory, cult, exploitation and horror film, and documentary.

At present, Film Studies MPhil/PhD students are undertaking research on trauma and the documentary image; and understanding the link between the writer and the creation of emotional impact through the screenplay form.
