International Marketing Assistant - open to current Worcester Business School students only

The post holder will join a growing team of enthusiastic and committed staff responsible for recruitment of International and EU students, contributing to the overall growth of the University.

The post holder will work closely alongside colleagues in the Communications and Participation Team. The International Recruitment Office is responsible for all aspects of the student recruitment cycle – to include; marketing and web promotions, press relations, open days and various events. In addition the post holder will also work collaboratively with colleagues across the University in both academic and service departments to support dynamic change in international recruitment.

The post holder will be responsible to the Director of International Marketing and Recruitment.

Short listed candidates will be invited to interview and asked to complete a work related task. This role is open to students who have completed the second year, only as a placement year

Background

The post will build on the processes of the role which have developed over several years of this graduate internship role. The International marketing assistant will develop the role further and will enhance recruitment processes through data management and e-marketing analysis.

Main duties

Main duties

1. To assist Regional Managers or the Director of International Marketing and Recruitment with researching international markets on behalf of the International Recruitment team. Reviewing and developing existing marketing strategies and recommending to the Director of International Recruitment appropriate strategies for the recruitment of EU and International students.

2. To assist the International Office Manager and Regional Managers to offer support to academic departments in matters pertaining to student recruitment, to include feedback and market research on market intelligence relating to course offer.

3. To have input into developing and delivering the existing conversion strategy under the guidance of Regional Managers to help achieve international recruitment targets.

4. To produce country focused messages as part of a conversion strategy under direction from senior International Office staff.

5. To develop electronic (web and social media) content as part of a conversion strategy in collaboration with existing Communications and Participation staff.

6. To provide accurate and well-presented advice and guidance about studying with the University of Worcester to potential students, parents, and all interested parties at key times within the recruitment cycle.

7. To assist with open days and campus tours, respond to requests for information and participate in visits to agents, schools, HEI’s, partner institutions and key stakeholders as required.

8. To assist with handling student enquiries and applications to ensure accurate records are maintained within the relevant databases under guidance from Regional Managers and Office Manager.

9. To perform general ad-hoc duties under the guidance of the Office Manager or Director of International Marketing and Recruitment which may include liaising with other areas of the University to include student support services, admissions, finance and other internal departments to support the recruitment of international students.

10. To carry out any financial duties required in accordance with the University of Worcester’s financial regulations.

Please provide evidence of how you meet each of the essential criteria.

Essential Criteria

1. Excellent IT skills including knowledge of e-technologies for marketing, video and photo creation and manipulation software, CRM and database packages, analysis tools, word-processing, electronic mail and web browsers.

2. Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and oral) including the ability to create effective promotional materials and create written copy and reports.

3. Ability to assist with the development of strategic plans, think creatively and research markets.

4. Excellent interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity and knowledge of different cultural practices. Ability to represent the University of Worcester at public events.

5. Ability to work independently, organise systematic administrative systems, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.

6. Ability to work effectively within a team but also demonstrate a good level of self-motivation, able to use own initiative.

7. Attention to detail with data, copy and promotional materials.

Desirable Criteria.

1. A second language.

2. Experience in working in higher education and admissions / recruitment environment.

3. Relevant experience including knowledge of recruitment processes, marketing, research and analysis skills, digital media and promoting in a virtual environment.
